Director of Business Integration

Amy is the Director of Business Integration and works with the Business Development Team. Her primary responsibility is to ensure a new client’s onboarding process progresses efficiently and effectively to meet expectations for the new client, their Advisor(s) and our Company.

Prior to joining Commonwealth Trust Company Amy worked at another well-established Delaware trust company for over 15 years. Primary responsibilities there included developing new fiduciary, agency and custody business relationships for domestic and international individuals and families; instilling best practices and mentoring junior associates, and attending conferences to market the Company’s services.

Cynthia D. M. Brown is the President of CTC and a member of its Board of Directors. Cindy has more than fifteen years of experience in the areas of trust administration, estate planning and tax. Her responsibilities include business development as well as oversight of trust administration, trust operations and compliance. In addition, Cindy is an active member of the Delaware State Bar Association Trust Act Committee, which drafts annual revisions to the Delaware Code.

Prior to joining CTC, Cindy worked at a large Philadelphia law firm, where, among other things, she administered estates and trusts, drafted sophisticated estate planning documents, prepared and reviewed Federal and State death tax returns, and prepared and reviewed fiduciary accountings. Cindy’s experience also includes over eight years as an estate and trust paralegal with both large Philadelphia law firms and a local private practice in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. In law school, Cindy served as the Blue Book Editor of the Widener Law Review and received several achievement awards in the area of Federal Estate and Gift Taxation and Planning. Cindy is active in many professional organizations and community leadership and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Delaware CarePlan, Inc. and the Delaware Bankers Association.

Chief Executive Officer

Caroline Horty Dickerson is the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer and Treasurer of CTC as well as a member of its Board of Directors. Caroline has more than fifteen years of experience in the area of trust administration and taxation. Her responsibilities include oversight of trust operations, compliance and human resources. In addition, Caroline is primarily responsible for annual compliance audits by both independent and State auditors.

Prior to joining CTC, Caroline worked at a large Wilmington accounting firm where she specialized in audit, particularly for closely held business owners. In addition, Caroline served as President of Commonwealth Insurance, providing insurance services to small business owners.

Vice President of Trust Operations

Charles W. Horn, III is the Vice President of Trust Operations of Commonwealth, where he is responsible for the tax compliance and planning issues for our trust clients. Charlie provides advice and direction on the tax implications of various complex transactions. He has more than twenty years of accounting experience, all of it in tax. He is a seasoned accounting professional with extensive experience focused on working with ultra‐high net worth clients for income and gift tax compliance. He has expertise in complex tax issues, including reporting of income/deductions from hedge funds and private equity partnerships, deferred compensation distributions (including stock options), rental properties, and operating businesses. He is also an Enrolled Agent licensed to practice before the Internal Revenue Service.

Prior to joining Commonwealth, Charlie served as the Vice President, Private Bank Tax Service with a global financial services firm. He managed all aspects of the tax planning and compliance functions, including preparation of income and gift tax returns for trusts, private foundations, and estates. He analyzed trust instruments for income, estate, and generation-skipping tax implications to ensure proper compliance with federal and state tax laws.

Vice President & Secretary

James A. Horty, III is the Secretary of CTC and a member of its Board of Directors. Jimmy brings with him more than twenty years of experience in working with and advising high net worth individuals, families and foundations. Specializing in the area of succession planning within closely held companies, he is able to bring a global approach to the business of trust administration.

In addition to his responsibilities at CTC, Jimmy is deeply involved in Wilmington, Delaware, schools, civic organizations and charitable organizations assisting them with major fundraising events.

Business Development Associate

Chris Major is a Business Development Associate at CTC. Chris brings with him experience in Accounting and Commercial Real Estate. Prior to joining CTC, he worked in Commercial Real Estate.

He works closely with members of the Business Development Group to develop new business by marketing to family office, legal, investment and tax advisors regarding our directed trust administration services, identifying trends in the trust market, and coordinating speaking, publishing and. marketing efforts for the company through cold calling, email and webinar campaigns.

Jamie E. McGinley is the Vice President of Trust Administration at CTC. Jamie has more than ten years of experience in the banking and fiduciary industry, including the area of trust administration. Her responsibilities are focused on managing CTC’s Trust Administrators, the administration of personal trust accounts as well as the development and maintenance of positive relationships with families and their Advisers.

Prior to joining CTC, Jamie worked at two well established Delaware trust companies where she was responsible for the administration of trusts for high net worth families as well as on-going customer relations.

Vice President of Legal Affairs

Matthew L. Rosin is the Vice President of Legal Affairs of Commonwealth Trust Company (“Commonwealth”). Matt has more than eighteen years of experience in the areas of trust administration, estate planning and tax. His responsibilities include providing oversight of Commonwealth’s Legal Department and regularly advising the company with regard to legal issues and policy formulation.

Prior to joining Commonwealth, Matt worked at several large Philadelphia law firms, where he concentrated his practice on estate planning and the administration of estates and trusts. In addition, he was actively involved in the Probate & Trust Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association. In law school, Matt served as the Senior Research Editor of the Florida Law Review, graduating first in his class, and received the highest grade in his Trusts and Estates course.

National Account Manager

Matt P. Wright is the National Account Manager at CTC. Matt brings with him more than fifteen years of experience in Business Development. Prior to joining CTC, he worked as a Vice President of Sales at a leading Philadelphia Real Estate firm.

His primary responsibilities at CTC include developing new business, visiting clients and referral sources on a regular basis, advising CTC of trends in the trust market, developing a CTC brand, and coordinating speaking, publishing and marketing efforts on behalf of the Company.

Chairman of the Board

Peter A. Horty is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CTC and former President and Chief Executive Officer. Peter brings to CTC more than forty-five years of experience in the areas of accounting, business, estate and tax planning. A frequent lecturer, Peter has spoken often on the topics of Delaware dynasty trusts, Delaware asset protection trusts, estate planning and succession planning.

Prior to joining CTC, Peter was a founding partner of a large Delaware accounting firm whose primary focus was providing consulting services to closely held businesses. In addition, he served as an associate professor of accounting for a local college and taught accounting at the University of Delaware.

Prior to joining CTC, Jim was a founding partner of a large Delaware accounting firm which focused primarily on small business owners and assisting them in both succession planning and mergers and acquisitions. In addition, Jim has been a frequent expert witness in the areas of lost profits, business damages and valuation.

William J. DiMondi, Esquire

Board Member

William J. DiMondi from Dover, DE is an attorney with a diverse professional background. A graduate of Boston College and Temple University School of Law, Mr. DiMondi has served as legal counsel to former Delaware Governor Michael N. Castle, an associate at Morris, Nichols, Arsht and Tunnel, and an associate at Parkowski, Guerke and Swayze. Additionally, he served as President of Wyoming Concrete Industries, Inc., a manufacturer of ready mix concrete, blocks and precast products in southern Delaware and Maryland’s eastern shore.

He is currently General Manager of The Delaware State Fair, Inc., which conducts the annual 10-day Delaware State Fair and is the majority owner of Harrington Raceway and Casino that operates a full service casino and harness racing track in southern Kent County, Delaware.

In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of Commonwealth Trust Company, he also serves on the Board of Directors of The Delaware State Fair, Inc. In the past, Mr. DiMondi has served on the Delaware Solid Waste Authority, Magistrate Screening Committee, Delaware River and Bay Authority, Delaware Board of Medical Practice, Delaware Real Estate Commission and the City of Dover Planning Commission.
